Research& Development

Arbortech's core business is the Research and Development of our range of technologies into products that make a real difference to the user. Whether it is providing a safer more convenient method or a creative approach, Arbortech's ability to challenge existing and at times outmoded ways of performing tasks is testament to the talents and dedication of our enthusiastic team who have already gained much international respect for their engineering excellence. Since 1988, when Arbortech developed its first unique product for woodworking, the Company's goal has been to position itself as a successful international company based on product and technological innovation.

Through our products and technologies, Arbortech seeks to open up new markets or expand existing ones. Our aim is to work in co-operation with others who demonstrate enthusiasm for change to provide end users with useful products to enhance their lifestyle.

Here are some of our technologies described in more detail.

AS160 Brick + Mortar Saw

After an extensive development program, the AS160 Brick + Mortar Saw was launched onto the Australian market in 2002/2003. It is now available throughout the world, either from our online store or through established distributor networks. The main export markets for this exceptional tool is Europe, USA and Australia.

The AS160 is the first wholly Australian designed and manufactured electrical saw and we are excited about the possibilities this revolutionary new safe cutting tool presents to the DIY, trade and building industries.

The AS160 is a significant step forward in masonry cutting technology, with unique product benefits. The AS160 can basically eliminate the set up and clean up time associated with conventional tools such as Cut Quicks or angle grinders in mortar and interior brick cutting, while creating virtually no dust when using the (dry) dust extraction accessory. The AS160 also provides superior operator safety, by producing no kick back, and being unable to aggressively cut soft materials, such as skin or clothing.

The unique, twin bladed cutting mechanism and a variety of blade profiles, allow the AS160 to cut square corners, plunge cut to 120mm depth and 70mm height (common house brick) - unlike any mid priced saw. In common plumbing, electrical and telecommunications installations, this can create huge time savings compared to using traditional tools such as hammer and chisel, or single bladed reciprocating saws.

Petrol
Allsaw

The first prototype of this technology has undergone extensive design analysis and engineering to reduce weight, while retaining robustness.

Powered by petrol and capable of cutting brick, masonry, wood and particularly wood buried underground. This product out performs alternatives such as disc cutters using abrasive or diamond discs with the added benefit of deep square cuts. It has the potential to replace the chainsaw as a safe environmentally friendly option in many situations. Depth of cut is 270mm.

Woodworking Tools

The Woodworking range of products was first developed in 1988 to allow the user to sculpt and shape wood in any direction. The first product developed called the "Woodcarver" blade, fitted to a small 4" or 100mm angle grinder caused a major breakthrough for woodworkers by giving an increase in productivity without the limiting restraints of only working with square edges. This creative aspect of working with Arbortech wood shaping tools has allowed a new dimension in woodworking to flourish with known artisans deriving their income entirely from using Arbortech tools alone. During the last 10 years the continual development and refinement of Arbortech woodworking tools has produced some new and exciting changes to the range on offer. Arbortech now caters for tradespeople who wish to cut and shape a variety of materials as well as woodworkers. Hammersaw Technology

This is a patented cutting action that allows a singular blade to rotate using an action similar to a spinning hula hoop where impacting forces on the blade are absorbed by the rotary momentum and not passed back through the mechanical elements. Applications currently being investigated for this technology include concrete and bitumen pavement cutting as well as stone cutting and the quarrying of dimension stone.

Airboard

The AIRBOARD floats on a cushion of air and riders can travel at a speed of up to 25kph while maneuvering into turns using a combination of weight transfer and throttle control. A totally new and exciting type of leisure craft, the AIRBOARD promises the user an exhilarating experience similar to skiing or skateboarding. For more click here!
